Rooms and rates for families on the Rajang
Four ways to stay, all priced per room per night in Ringgit, all with breakfast. Rooms sit on ironwood stilts above the riverbank and share a long veranda, a floating jetty and a rod room. Children under four stay free in any room.

Deposit, changes and the river
Deposit. We ask for 30 % of the room total by FPX or DuitNow QR within 48 hours of our quote to confirm the booking. The balance is paid at the lodge on arrival by cash, DuitNow QR or debit and credit card.
Cancellation. Cancel 14 days or more before arrival for a full deposit refund. Between 7 and 13 days, we refund 50 % of the deposit. Within 6 days the deposit is kept, but we will always try to move your dates instead.
High water. If the Rajang is unsafe or too muddy for the trips you booked, we either switch you to backwater and jetty fishing or move your trips to another day at no charge. If the whole stay becomes impractical, for example when express boats are suspended, you can move your dates within twelve months without a fee.
Check-in and check-out. Check-in from 2:00 pm, check-out by 11:00 am. Most express boats arrive late morning, so we store bags and serve a welcome drink if your room is not ready yet. Late check-out until 2:00 pm costs RM 60, subject to availability.
Children. Under-fours stay free with no extra bed. Children must be supervised by an adult in the room at all times outside organised sessions, and must wear life jackets on the jetty and boats without exception.

Jenny Ugak anak Sanggin
Grew up in a longhouse on the Baleh and taught primary school in Kapit for eleven years before opening the lodge. She plans every family's week personally.
Michael Jabu anak Lawai
Has run boats on the Rajang and Baleh since he was sixteen. He makes the 6:00 am river call each day and leads the Pelagus runs.
Ting Siew Ling
A Foochow cook from Sibu who buys at the Kapit market each morning. Known for kampua noodles at breakfast and grilled river fish at dinner.
Hafiz Rosli
Fits every life jacket, runs the safety briefing and teaches most of the children's jetty sessions. Holds a current first-aid certificate.

A former Kuching kindergarten teacher who designs the age-group activities, from fish-drawing on rainy afternoons to knot challenges.

Our son is six and has never sat still for anything. Hafiz had him on the jetty with a short rod within an hour of arriving, and he caught four tengadak before dinner. We took the Family Loft for three nights in June and wished we had booked five.
I came with my parents and two daughters in the Ruai Suite. My father is 74 and Michael planned a gentler Baleh run with longer rests on the gravel bars. He released his first semah with my youngest holding the camera.
Honest about the river. We arrived in late November, the Rajang was high and brown, and Jenny told us on WhatsApp before we left Sibu that it would be backwater only. The kids did not mind at all: the evening seluang trip was their favourite part.
Food was the surprise. Siew Ling cooked a seafood-only menu for us every night without fuss and grilled the baung my daughter caught. Rated 5 out of 5 by both children, which never happens.
Simple rooms, very clean, and the staff remember small things. My twins are nine and are now tying their own Palomar knots at home with my sewing thread.
